The Mountain Retreat & Learning Center has played a vital role in Gay Spirit Visions’ history. After Running Water farm was sold in 1989, The Mountain was one of the few conference centers that was willing to host an openly gay event.
The Mountain is located atop a 4,200 ft. granite bluff in the Blue Ridge Mountains overlooking the Blue Valley in the Nantahala National Forest. Founded in 1979, The Mountain Retreat & Learning Center is a non-profit program center, summer youth camp and a retreat for individuals and groups where people can grow and renew themselves.
